About Kasauli

Kasauli is a quiet, colonial-era hill station in the Solan district at about 1,900 metres — far less crowded than Shimla or Manali. Just 65 km from Chandigarh, it's perfect for a weekend escape with misty pine forests, heritage churches, and sweeping views of the Punjab plains. Established as a British cantonment in 1842, Kasauli retains a sleepy charm with narrow winding roads and old stone buildings.

What Kasauli Is Famous For

  • Peaceful, uncrowded alternative to Shimla and Manali
  • Colonial architecture and cantonment-town atmosphere
  • Monkey Point — highest peak with Hanuman temple and valley views
  • Dense pine and oak forests ideal for nature walks
  • Sunset and Gilbert Trail scenic viewpoints
  • Kasauli Brewery — one of Asia's oldest distilleries (est. 1820s)
